Increase in the value of the capitation point
The Health Insurance Fund of the Republic of North Macedonia, as a result of the discussions and negotiations with the Medical Chamber of RNM and the Dental Chamber of RNM, and with a view to greater valuation of the work of selected doctors and improving the quality of health services provided to insured persons, at the last session of the Management Board, held on 26 December 2022, adopted a decision that, from first January 2023, it would increase the value of the capitation point for selected doctors in general medicine and gynaecology from 63,00 to 75,00 denars. For selected dentists, the capitation point is increased from 48,00 to 61 denars, per registered insured person .
The commitments of the Fund are directed towards improving the status of selected doctors in primary health care and the need for their greater engagement in the implementation of the forthcoming reforms in PHC.
For this reason, the increase in the capitation point aims to encourage the provision of more health services at primary level, thereby reducing the number of referrals to a higher level of health care, as well as to encourage and ensure improved prevention through timely detection, prevention and control of non-communicable diseases among the population in our country.
