Perinski and Klekovski at the Clinical Hospital – Shtip: A new concept for a modern health and educational complex worth 109 million euros
The Acting Director of the Health Insurance Fund, Zlatko Perinski, together with the Minister of Health, Dr Sasho Klekovski, Deputy Minister of Health Jovica Andovski, the Mayor of the Municipality of Shtip, Ivan Jordanov, and representatives of the World Bank, today paid a working visit to the Clinical Hospital – Shtip, where they were introduced to the new concept for implementing the project for the completion and modernisation of the hospital.

The delegation was welcomed by the President of the Management Board of the Clinical Hospital – Shtip, Dr Biljana Eftimova, who presented the planned activities and development plans related to this significant health investment.

The project, whose estimated value is 109 million euros, represents one of the most significant capital investments in Macedonian healthcare and aims to strengthen the role of the Clinical Hospital – Shtip as a regional health centre for the eastern part of the country.
The new concept does not relate only to the completion and modernisation of hospital capacities, but envisages the development of a modern health and educational complex. The project provides for a new Faculty of Medicine, a student residence, modern infrastructure, the integration of new medical and IT equipment, as well as the complete arrangement of the accompanying facilities.

In this way, better conditions will be created for the treatment of patients, education and practical teaching in the field of medicine, scientific research work and professional development of medical staff. Linking the health and educational components will also contribute to retaining and developing professional medical staff in the region.

The implementation of the project will enable higher-quality and more accessible health services for citizens from the eastern region, strengthen regional hospital capacities and reduce the need for patients to travel and be referred for treatment to the University Clinical Centre in Skopje.
The Health Insurance Fund supports strategic investments aimed at modernising health infrastructure, improving treatment conditions and bringing quality health services closer to citizens. Strengthening regional clinical hospitals is an important step towards a more efficient, accessible and sustainable health system.
