The Positive List supplemented with nine generics for the first time since 2014

Today, the Management Board of the Health Insurance Fund adopted a decision to supplement the Positive List of Medicines with a total of nine medicines by generic name, that is, by form and strength, the Positive List is in fact being expanded by a total of 20 medicines. This means expanding the Positive List of Medicines with 59 brand names, namely for: blood diseases - anticoagulants (Prasugrel, Ticagrelor), diseases of the heart and blood vessels - for high blood pressure and high fats (Nebivolol, Perindopril, Valsartan, Fenofibrate), for the central nervous system - antidepressants and for treating dementia (Escitalopram, Memantine, Duloxetine).

The estimated impact on the Fund's budget on an annual basis is around one million euros.
This is the first supplement to the list since 2014. The Fund is committed to access to better medicines and encourages all stakeholders towards further supplements.
