Working meeting of the Directors General of the Fund with the directors of PHIs and the directors of Skopje clinics and hospitals
At the working meeting held on 12.8.2024 between the directors of the Fund, Sasho Klekovski and Branko Adzhigogov, and the directors of public health institutions, clinical centres and hospitals, the emphasis was placed on joint work aimed at consolidating public health institutions, namely:
How to solve the problems with the large debts in public health institutions, how to consolidate them, above all financially, and how to improve the operation of public health institutions was the topic of discussion between the representatives of the Health Insurance Fund of Macedonia and the directors of the public health institutions (PHIs) from Skopje, including the directors of Skopje clinics and hospitals.
The Directors General of the Fund informed the directors of the PHIs that measures are already being taken for the financial consolidation of public health institutions and that certain funds are planned in the supplementary Budget intended for public health institutions, clinics and hospitals. We asked the directors to prepare financial overviews, audits and financial controls where necessary, as well as to revise the contracted budgets and projections until the end of the year.
At the meeting it was established that debts in the first half of the year had increased by 20 percent due to poorly planned budgets or irresponsible management.
At the meeting, a unanimous conclusion was adopted that through joint commitment, better control of funds, as well as responsible management, we will achieve timely and better health services for patients. We asked the directors for timely and evidence-based planning of budgets for the next year. As the Fund, during this process we will give full support to the directors, with the aim of ensuring a more efficient and better health service.
Meetings will also be organised in the other regions, and will be held regularly every three months.
