Accelerated digitalisation is needed for a more effective health system
The general directors of the HIFRNM, Sasho Klekovski and Branko Adzhigogov, at the working meeting held on 16.07.2024, together with the Minister of Digitalisation, Stefan Andonovski, held a constructive discussion on the topic of accelerating the process of digitalisation of the health system in the country, increasing and improving digital services, and networking all patient data in one place.
The need for full digitalisation in this segment is essential; this will increase the efficiency and effectiveness of health services, reduce the administrative work of healthcare workers, and every medical professional will have all the necessary data for a patient. The system can be upgraded by offering more services, thereby accelerating the use of health services and drastically reducing the possibility of corruption.
"Digitalisation is a priority, because only through digitalisation is transparency increased and control improved in all areas, from prescriptions to treatment abroad. The resistance that has appeared towards digitalisation in the healthcare segment is due to the reduced possibility of abuses. But now there is political will to overcome this”, Klekovski explained at the meeting.
For Minister Andonovski, this working principle, with the introduction of elements of digitalisation, is a way to avoid further abuses and for patients to receive the desired services faster and better. Minister Andonovski also emphasised the importance of connecting with Uslugi.gov.mk
An analysis of all necessary system upgrades is already being carried out and implementation will begin in the coming period.
