HIFRNM: Indov’s treatment will be fully covered by the state

The Government has decided to fully cover the treatment of Leonid Indov in Macedonia. The Health Insurance Fund will cover the treatment of Leonid Indov in Macedonia, which will be carried out at the 8 September City General Hospital.

In the past, coverage of the costs for Leonid’s treatment was refused, with the assertion that conditions for treatment existed in the country, without specifying where. Last week, the Government requested that this be changed. On the basis of the recommendations from Austria and 8 September, the HIF will approve the use of medicines necessary for this type of treatment.

“The HIF is a service for citizens, for all those who need health services. We are working to establish clear rules in order to reduce the possibility of irregularities and abuses. Therefore, we are analysing the problems identified in the reports of the State Audit Office, as well as citizens’ complaints.”

Due to existing distrust in institutions, many people who need treatment abroad decide to collect donations, without contacting the health institutions and the Health Insurance Fund at all. Therefore, all citizens are urged first to contact the health institutions and the Fund
