New prescription forms covered by the Fund

The HIFRNM, as of 01.10 2022, introduced new prescription forms for prescribing medicines in the surgeries of family doctors and dispensing medicines covered by the Fund in pharmacies: a prescription form for prescribing medicines for insured persons - Form RO1, and a prescription form for prescribing medicines for foreign insured persons - Form RO2.

The Fund’s Decision amending and supplementing the forms, adopted on the basis of the Rulebook on the content and manner of exercising the rights and obligations arising from compulsory health insurance, was published in the Official Gazette of the RM No.175 of 04.08.2022.

The amendments were made in consultation with the professional community, as well as with the Electronic Health Administration (My Term), due to the need to make certain adaptations to the Fund’s prescription forms, also with a view to preparing for the implementation of the forthcoming novelty of introducing an integrated information system of the Fund for e-prescriptions, with all its benefits for the professional public, in terms of a better overview and insight into the necessary information and strengthening of control mechanisms, but above all for the Fund’s insured persons.  
 
The benefits of the new forms are: further facilitation of the process of prescribing prescription medicines by the selected doctor, shortening the time that the insured person spends with the selected doctor, strengthening control over the prescribing of medicines by the family doctor and the dispensing of prescription medicines covered by the Fund in pharmacies, better records of medicines recommended by a specialist/subspecialist doctor, and other matters.
