Consultations with foreign experts for Kochani continue

Today, at the premises of the HIF, the General Director of the Fund, Sasho Klekovski, held a meeting with Shpela Kerin, a prosthetist from Krško, Slovenia. She is a leading prosthetics expert in the region for hand and facial prostheses (epitheses), with over 25 years of experience. She will make working visits to Skopje and Kochani to assess the condition of those injured in the tragedy in Kochani. Incidentally, there are already five users of her prostheses in Macedonia.

At this meeting, the needs of the injured and the possibilities for their faster recovery were discussed. These aesthetic-functional prostheses are intended for specific needs and are made to measure after the skin healing process has been completed. We also discussed financing by the Health Insurance Fund, for which there is experience from Slovenia and Croatia.

Previously, the Director communicated with Ambassador Simona Frankel, the health authorities, as well as the doctors who led the teams from Israel assisting those injured in Kochani, Dr Shahar Shapira from Sheba Medical Center and Dr Omer Marin, Director of “Shaare Zedek” in Jerusalem.
