Speech by the Director of the HIFM, Dr Sasho Stefanoski, on the occasion of World Growth Awareness Day for Children

Our cooperation with the association of children with endocrinological diseases “Rast”, to mutual satisfaction, began at a time when the health system was facing a shortage of growth hormone intended for the children who needed it. The HIFM decided to cover this therapy and, from 2011, through a conditional budget - which represents strictly earmarked funds that can be used only for growth hormone - made it available to the Children’s Clinic. This was done so that, as a Fund, we can ensure that the Children’s Clinic will always have a sufficient quantity of growth hormone available.
