By introducing preventive goals in primary healthcare, for the activity of general medicine, we enable rationalisation and proper use of the Fund’s resources, as well as raising the quality of healthcare in the country. Namely, the Health Insurance Fund of Macedonia introduced three goals as an obligation for family doctors, which are preventive measures for the early and timely detection of the three most common non-communicable diseases: cardiovascular diseases, kidney diseases and diabetes mellitus, as well as secondary prevention of possible complications from them, which doctors must implement.
