Preventive examinations by selected doctors - More than 40.000 insured persons examined in the first quarter

By introducing preventive targets in primary healthcare, for the general medicine activity, we enable rationalisation and proper use of the Fund’s resources, as well as raising the quality of healthcare in the country. Namely, the Health Insurance Fund of Macedonia introduced three targets as an obligation for selected doctors, which are preventive measures for the early and timely detection of the three most common non-communicable diseases: cardiovascular diseases, kidney diseases and diabetes mellitus, as well as secondary prevention of possible complications from the same, which doctors must implement.
