As many as 90% of the total number of citizens in the Republic of Macedonia are covered by the compulsory health insurance system and every citizen has the right to be included in the system, which ranks Macedonia among the countries with the highest percentage of health-insured persons. This was emphasised by MSc Maja Parnardzhieva-Zmejkova, Director of the HIFM, at the meeting with the UNICEF Representative for Macedonia, Dr Bertrand Demoulin, which was held at his request.
