The Fund Adopted a New Rulebook on Biomedically Assisted Fertilisation
We inform the public that the Fund has adopted a new Rulebook on the criteria for concluding contracts and the method of payment and procedure for exercising the right to and health services for biomedically assisted fertilisation in health institutions that provide specialist-consultative health care (Official Gazette of the RNM No.5/2024), which regulates the rights and obligations of health institutions and the Fund, as well as the rights of insured persons to undergo a BAF procedure at the expense of the Fund’s resources
The Rulebook defines the procedure for submitting documentation for BAF, as well as the necessary documentation to be provided by the insured person.
In the section on required documentation, the medical documentation for the woman and the man is set out in separate items
for both partners, for a business-capable woman, as well as the required documentation for exercising the right to BAF with cryopreserved material
and a gestational carrier.
In addition to the medical documentation, the required administrative documentation necessary for initiating the BAF procedure is also specified.
Depending on the medical documentation and expert opinion, 5 new Protocols have been established, namely:
- Standard Protocol for BAF – Form 1.1
- Protocol for BAF with cryopreserved ova (own or donor) – Form 1.2
- Protocol for BAF with cryopreserved spermatozoa (own or donor) – Form 1.3
- Protocol for BAF with embryo transfer of cryopreserved embryos (own or donor) – Form 1.4
- Protocol for BAF with a gestational carrier – Form 1.5
For each Protocol, the Fund has established several packages with a reference price.
